Objectives: Students will be able to read and write whole numbers up to 100 in figures and words.
Prerequisite Knowledge: Students can read and write whole numbers up to five hundred in figures and words.
Introduction: Teacher begins counting by 5,s, 10’s, 100’s and pupils continue. Teacher flashed card with numbers of both sides in words and figures and call on students randomly to identify and read out the numbers shown.
Procedure:
1 . Students will place numbers on place value chart.
2. Groups will be given a set of cards with both words and figures. They match them.
3 Groups of four will be given the same number. They will rearrange the digits to form other numbers then write the words for these numbers. Eg: 439 = 493,349 - four hundred thirty nine . When they are finish they will see if their numbers comes up on the PowerPoint presentation. - See Download
4. Students will then report on their activities and teacher makes necessary corrections and provides feedback.
Evaluation: Students will complete the following activities.
1. Write at least five numbers that can be formed from these numbers. a. 175 b. 984
2. Choose any five numbers from what you have formed and write then in words.
